The Dying Swans Project is a project of the German company Gauthier Dance, of which we, as Holland Dance Festival, are co-producers. Artistic director – and audience favorite – Eric Gauthier has asked 16 well-known choreographers, eight men and eight women, to create a new dance solo for 16 dancers of his company Gauthier Dance//Dance Company Theaterhaus Stuttgart. The 16 creators each have an entirely unique choreographic signature, but together they convey one strong message: art is unstoppable.
The participating choreographers are: Mauro Bigonzetti, Bridget Breiner, Virginie Brunelle, Kinsun Chan, Edward Clug, Dominique Dumais, Andonis Foniadakis, Itzik Galili, Smadar Goshen, Anita Hanke, Guillaume Hulot, Nicki Liszta, Constanza Macras, Kevin O’Day, Elisabeth Schilling and Eric Gauthier ‘himself’.
