On multiple occasions, French star dancer Sylvie Guillem was a guest at the Holland Dance Festival. Each time the audience was impressed by her flexible and strong body, lithe legs and rich expressive power. She “retired” in 2015, but our fascination with her will remain. In this interview with Samuel Wuersten we get a good picture of Guillem with beautiful film clips. It starts with the piece from the classical ballet Swan Lakes and then Guillem dances the solo Wet Woman by choreographer Mats Ek. Finally, the pas de deux Push, in which Guillem and Russel Maliphant almost merge, can be seen.

The filming was on June 19, 2021 at the beautiful Teatro del Giglio, Lucca in Italy. It was here that Sylvie Guillem received the ‘Lucca premia la danza’ award 2021 from Associazione Europa Danza and the city of Lucca (IT).
