'Shropshire returns in this festival with a completely new piece' | Danish Dance Theatre

‘Suddenly there is this gem’ the NRC wrote about the work of Stephen Shropshire. He also received a lot of credit in 2016 for his contribution to the previous Holland Dance Festival. Last October the American choreographer, who has lived in the Netherlands for many years, won the so called ‘Special Prize’ of the Dansersfonds ’79. The jury praised him for the ‘consistent esthetic harmony in his work and the close relation with the choice of music’. It’s no wonder that we cannot get enough of this choreographer. Shropshire returns in this festival with a completely new piece that he made together with the Danish Dance Theatre, inspired by the themes of the famous play Freule Julie from 1888 by the Swedish author Strindberg.
