“Visually stunning for the whole two hours”
The Dutch debut of Gauthier Dance was the big hit of the previous edition of Holland Dance Festival. Artistic director Eric Gauthier loves ‘dance that is bursting with energy’, as he showed with various infectious, flashy compilation programs. Now his company will dance Alice by the Italian star choreographer Mauro Bigonzetti.
Inspired by The Adventures of Alice in Wonderland, but with the atmosphere and the music of the passionate Italian south. Bigonzetti is more interested in the power of the imagination, which he captures in a unique, passionate, raw and earthy dance idiom, than in the story itself. Accompanied by live music from the Italian group Assurd, Enza Pagliara and the famous composer/musician Antongiulio Galeandro.
