“From Professional to Amateur”
A collaboration between the Dutch dance scene’s leading choreographers and a selection of the country’s best amateur dancers, this programme is the culmination of a unique talent-development project organized by the Holland Dance Festival each year. Ambitious amateur dancers are given a chance to audition in five regions of the Netherlands, and after a strenuous selection have six months to prepare for this festival performance.
Led by professional choreographers, the green dancers hone their unique individual abilities to make the leap to the professional stage. This edition of Dance Date will feature new work by Rutkay Özpinar and Nederlands Dans Theater, alongside pieces from the repertoire of greats like Jiří Kylián, Ed Wubbe and dance collective 155.
