DanceAble Event 2015 | PITSTOP
“A breathtaking and touching show.”
Sometimes all we need is a pause for reflection, to hold back and think of what it is that we really want and what we can do. PITSTOP deals with ambition, dreams and illusions. Eighteen dancers are literally and figuratively crossing their boundaries. A breathtaking and touching show.
Professionals and amateurs, young and old, met each other for the first time last September. The youngest dancer is 16 years old, the eldest has reached the age of 70 (!). Their backgrounds are just as diverse. Different rhythms, different tempo’s, on stage they come together in close and surprising combinations of people, styles and possibilities. The audience will be treated to a dazzling set of extremes, presenting itself in all its diversity, sometimes extravagant, sometimes more intimate and pure.
PITSTOP is certainly not about being disabled, but all about proverbialy marking time. Dancers are (re)discovering their talents and possibilities. They show that with talent, commitment and pleasure, the seemingly impossible can be achieved.
Choreography: Goele van Dijck, Jasper Džuki Jelen & Mojra Vogelnik Škerlj

Pitstop is a coproduction of DOX and Holland Dance.
If there is one specific discipline that is associated with a body that functions physically perfect, then it has to be dance. We at Holland Dance think it is time to question this traditional stance. For the first time in the Netherlands a space will be created for integrated dance with a unique event called DanceAble.
