Dancing Grandmothers | Eun-Me Ahn Company
“On stage, the grandmothers become bombs of exuberant energy, pleasure and seduction - Le Monde”
This consummate ‘feel good’ performance has already won the hearts of audiences worldwide! Following their success abroad, now the Korean Dancing Grandmothers are finally coming to the Netherlands. Dancing Grandmothers explores the attitudes of Korean women to dance and ageing. The production by choreographer Eun-Me Ahn, aka ‘the Pina Bausch of Seoul’, combines flower power, folklore and electro and has been danced by all ages. Travelling through her native Korea, Ahn discovered that women everywhere became visibly happier when she asked them to dance. That pure and ageless energy of even the most elderly inspired the young dancers of her Eun-Me Ahn Company – and the rest is history. In Paris, the company transformed the Théâtre National de la Colline into a massive dance floor in a performance that held the audience spellbound. Get ready to be entranced!
