Man of the Hour | Itzik Galili & Israeli Opera

Man of the Hour | Itzik Galili & Israeli Opera

“There is a moment of grace for the 'men of the hour' when it looked like the choreographer is trying to test the limits of endurance.”

“…the choreographer is testing the limits of endurance, while all is anchored in great compositions of geometric structures.” “The dancers resemble a swarm of bees in a fading disorder from one structure to the next…” – Yediot Achronot

He worked in the Netherlands for more than twenty years where he had big successes as a choreographer. Currently Itzik Galili works globally because his spontaneous looking, but technically oh so virtuoso dance idiom is universal. In Man of The Hour he shares his vision of contemporary, hectic Israel, his country of birth, together with eight dancers and two singers of the Israeli Opera. An emotional journey filled with extremes.

We are very thankful for the generous support of the Israeli Embassy in bringing Itzik Galili back from Israel to The Netherlands with a new production.

A production of The Israeli Opera & the Suzanne Dellal Centre in Tel Aviv, in collaboration with Holland Dance Festival, Stadsschouwburg Amsterdam and Stadsschouwburg Groningen.
