Cutting edge ice dance performance, that’s what the Canadian Le Patin Libre offers. Their name says it all: free skating far removed from figure skating routines and clichés.

The group was founded in 2005 by former champion figure skaters who used their stunning skills to enhance the theatrical and choreographic possibilities of gliding on ice. With impressive footwork and amazing speed and elegance they stretch the boundaries of figure skating in the 21st century.

Workshop on ice
On wednesday 24 January Le Patin Libre will host a workshop on ice. During this workshop the ice skaters will learn you everything about their unique choreographic technique, better known as 'gliding'. You will master this technique, as well as the basics of contemporary figure skating. In this playful workshop you will also get the opportunity to participate in a group choreography. The workshop is suitable for ice skaters of all levels.

Danceparty on ice
Following the show on 27 january the Danceparty on Ice will take place. Come and join us on the ice to dance and glide around! Don't forget to take your ice skates. It is also possible to rent skates at the Uithof. Entrance is free.

Auditions
Want to become the next professional ice dancer? Take your auditions with Le Patin Libre. The company wants to grow in the coming years and is investing in the training of new skating artists. On the 26th of january they are holding auditions for highly-skilled ice skaters.
