Traditionally Holland Dance Festival also puts the spotlight on upcoming ‘homegrown’ choreographic talent.
Choreographer Iván Pérez is one of the greats among them and belongs to production house Korzo. For this production he collaborates with director Michiel de Regt. The two present a modern adaptation of the classic Waiting for the Barbarians by Nobel prizewinner J.M.Coetzee. This realistic fable deals with totalitarian regimes and their impact on the lives of individuals. The moral and existential questions that arise from this are very recognizable and current. An intriguing combination of theatre, dance and video art.
Please note: this performance is in Dutch. On Thursday 18 and Friday 19 February, the performance will be played in Korzo with English surtitles.
