“Teacher Training Course 'EnCOMPASS' for inclusive dance teachers”

Holland Dance Festival and the inclusive dance company Stopgap Dance Company work closely together for further deepening and training in the field of inclusive dance in the Netherlands. In recent years they have been working hard on the development of methodology in the field of inclusive dance. The British Stopgap Dance Company specialises in giving dance lessons to people with a physical or mental disability.
During the Teacher Training Courses, the renowned Stopgap Dance Company shares its experiences in the field of inclusive dance and teaches its tried and tested methods for warming-up, dance skills and creative assignments. Curiosity and inventiveness are stimulated during the Teacher Training Courses in order to take a fresh look at inclusive dance.
16 & 17 May 2020 | Inclusive Dance
This session provides participants with the skills to use props and sensory stimuli in a workshop. In addition, Stopgap will provide the tools needed to manage a variety of needs within one session; develop ideas for working with participants with complex needs and look at ideas for how to deal with support staff to get the most out of a session. Stopgap artists will also share tips and ideas for creating choreographies within the limited time of a workshop setting.
Practical information
– Participation in the Teacher Training Course costs €30,- per day and €50,- per weekend.
– Location: Korzo Theatre, Prinsestraat 42, The Hague.
