A Bird Named Mansour to be seen at Cinedans FEST 2025
21 March 2025

Muses & A Bird Named Mansour will have its festive premiere at Filmhuis Den Haag on 5 April. However, fans can enjoy the dance film A Bird Named Mansour earlier during Cinedans FEST, which has been dedicated to the discovery of new dance films for more than 20 years.
On Friday 21 March, A Bird Named Mansour will be screened at the EYE Film Museum as part of Cinedans FEST 2025. From 20 to 23 March 2025, Cinedans FEST will celebrate dance film as a genre and art form, focusing on choreography made especially for the camera and special film adaptations of existing dance performances. During the weekend, Jordy Dik's dance film will be screened as part of New Dutch, which annually presents a new generation of Dutch dance films.
A Bird Named Mansour is set in a world of chaos, where children flee their homes in search of safety. It reflects on world leaders who choose violence over saving lives. The story is inspired by the birds around us - symbols of freedom, yearning to fly towards a better, more peaceful future. At its heart, the film is about the simple desire shared by many: to live together in peace.
Cinedans plays an important role in the visibility of Dutch dance film production. Founded in 2002, it is the only organisation in the Netherlands that focuses exclusively on dance films, combining the presentation, development and international distribution of the genre.
