Ailey II meets the Dutch dance world.

As part of an inspiring exchange, the renowned American dance company Ailey II paid a special visit to the Netherlands. During their stay, the young dancers immersed themselves in Dutch dance culture, focusing on meeting, sharing and inspiring each other.

During the visit, attending the Talent On The Move performance was a must. Not only did Ailey II get the chance to see the performance, but they also got to know the dance talents of Codarts Rotterdam. A valuable experience for dancers from both companies - a chance to interact, share perspectives and gain new insights. The programme also included a meeting with the internationally leading Nederlands Dans Theater (NDT).

Ailey II's visit underlines the importance of international collaboration in the performing arts. With companies such as Nederlands Dans Theater and Het Nationale Ballet, and renowned study programmes such as Codarts, the Netherlands offers a fertile environment for both emerging and established dance talent. The strong focus on innovation, talent development and interdisciplinary work makes the Dutch dance world an inspiring meeting place for dance lovers, dancers, makers and dance companies from all over the world.

Recently, Ailey II presented their 50th anniversary performance at Holland Dance Festival 2024. The adult company Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater was last seen at Holland Dance Festival 2019.
