As part of Wings of Time, the retrospective dedicated to Jiří Kylián, this exhibition offers a unique glimpse into his iconic body of work over the years. On the first floor of Amare, a small-scale photo exhibition is presented, featuring a selection of nine images that together form a visual journey through Kylián’s remarkable artistic career.
The photos on display have been made available thanks to Nederlands Dans Theater (NDT). Kylián was affiliated with this renowned company for no less than 34 years, serving as both resident choreographer and artistic director. During that time, he created 74 groundbreaking ballets, leaving behind a truly impressive artistic legacy.
Rather than focusing on specific productions, the exhibition offers a broader reflection on Kylián’s singular artistic vision and his lasting impact on the international dance scene. Captured in the Moment is thus not only a tribute to Kylián himself, but also a celebration of The Hague — home to NDT — as a vital hub for contemporary dance.
