This workshop originates from the performance Please Hold My Hand, which premieres during Holland Dance Festival. The work unfolds as a visual poem about the power of womanhood, the courage and vulnerability it entails, and the significance of small acts of kindness. An ode to all the women we love — here, there, everywhere.
In Bring Your Favorite Woman!, Compagnie Tiuri invites you to bring along a woman you admire, appreciate or hold dear — especially someone who might not usually consider themselves a dancer. Together with the dancers of Compagnie Tiuri, choreographer Jordy Dik and co-choreographer Loura van Krimpen, you step into the company’s colourful and vibrant world.
In a playful and direct way, participants — with and without dance experience — are guided into the world of dance. Drawing on the company’s different working methods, the workshop leads towards the creation of a shared choreography. Stories, generations and dancing bodies come together in a collective journey centred on creativity, connection, and the celebration of our humanity and womanhood.
If you are unable to bring someone who identifies as a woman, or if you prefer to come on your own, you are more than welcome. This workshop is for everyone and focuses on openness, encounter and the dancing human being.
