For any 55-plus who would rather dance than sit still.

You're never too old to dance, and this is proven by our weekly dance class series, Good [old] Times. For many years, the Holland Dance Festival has been organizing these dance classes specifically for individuals aged 55 and older. Dance is the language that communicates, connects, and captivates without the need for words. Moreover, it stimulates the production of so-called 'happiness hormones'.

“Voor mij is dans vooral ontspanning. Ik dans omdat ik er veel energie van krijg. En nee, er zit geen leeftijdslimiet op dansen. Je moet het gewoon doen: doorgaan met bewegen, met plezier hebben.”

— Julia Wielstra, 59 jaar - Deelneemster Good [old] Times

Good [old] Times is open to anyone aged 55 and older who wants to enjoy dancing. The Holland Dance Festival offers multiple classes catering to various skill levels; there's something for everyone.

During the basic course, participants will work on the basics of modern dance, but influences and elements from other dance disciplines will also be used. Both in movement and in choice of music. Led by professional dance teachers from Holland Dance Festival, attention is given to developing general (physical) condition, body awareness, balance, muscle strength and flexibility. The focus of the lessons is on dancing together, with fun as the main drive.

Everyone aged 55 or older is welcome to join the basic course. If you are a beginning dancer or a dancer who likes to be challenged at a slow pace, this course is for you.
