On Sunday 15 June, Holland Dance Festival, Amare and Kylián Productions B.V. are organising a special tribute to the unique artistic world of Jiří Kylián with an exclusive masterclass from 11:00 to 13:00 in the Blackbox at Amare. Led by Stefan Żeromski, a former NDT 1 dancer, this session will provide dance enthusiasts aged 18 and over with an inspiring and enriching experience, offering an insight into the signature style and creative processes of one of the most influential choreographers of our time.
During this intensive masterclass, you will work with Stefan Żeromski on a group section from his iconic choreography, Bella Figura. This piece explores the aesthetics of sensuality, the power of vulnerability, and the limits of reality. In Italian, 'Bella Figura' not only means 'beautiful figure', but also 'To keep up appearances' or 'resilience in difficult situations'. Jiří Kylián's work raises fundamental questions about authenticity, inviting dancers to move within an intriguing in-between space where the transition from human to performer occurs poetically.
In this session, Stefan Żeromski will share the choreographic movements and convey the deeper layers and artistic intentions of the work, drawing on his years of experience with Kylián's repertoire. This masterclass offers a unique opportunity to work with a leading international repertoire, led by a teacher who has an intimate understanding of the oeuvre.
