Step into the world of ConCuerpos and discover a unique way of moving. In these inspiring workshop, you will explore the relationship between the individual and the collective body through imagination, movement research and creative exploration.
Using targeted muscular activation, clear movement intentions and simple props such as sticks, participants are invited to discover new ways of moving and creating together. Every body brings its own qualities and possibilities, making diversity the starting point for a shared artistic experience. The workshops offer space to experiment, connect and experience how dance can bring people together.
The workshops are led by Laura Toro and Dahlia Carmín, dancers of ConCuerpos, with the support of choreographer Laisvie Andrea Ochoa and dancer Anneloes van Schuppen. Everyone is welcome, regardless of dance experience or physical ability.
These workshops are part of ConCuerpos’ visit to the Netherlands. Through its partnership in Europe Beyond Access, Holland Dance Festival has built a longstanding relationship with the pioneering Colombian inclusive dance company. Choreographer Laisvie Andrea Ochoa has become a familiar face at the festival, presenting a preview of FOCARIS during the DanceAble Symposium and leading an inspiring workshop for participants of Good [old] Times earlier this year.
Alongside the European presentation of FOCARIS at Korzo on 11 September, these workshops offer a unique opportunity to experience the inclusive artistic practice of ConCuerpos firsthand. An inspiring encounter where movement, creativity and accessibility come together.
