Practice, or rather experience, krumping. Delve into the culture and history of the dance style to better understand the style while learning dance techniques of Krumping.

About Krumping
The dance style krumping emerged in the 1990s in the African-American community of Los Angeles as a creative outlet for the aggression created by the wounds of social inequality, exclusion and racism. It is a raw, energetic and strong movement language in which authenticity and the expression of emotion are paramount. At the same time, krump is a peaceful and safe way to make yourself resilient against feelings of powerlessness as a result of unjust perceived violence. Today, krump is an important socio-political movement worldwide that connects communities and offers support and stability to many young people in particular, regardless of their living conditions. A The performance A Human Race demonstrates the power of dance in dissolving boundaries between social realities and between street and highbrow culture.

There will be a free Artist talk (Jan. 30) or Drop-in Workshop (Jan. 31) after the performance of A Human Race - The Rite of Krump.
