Dance knows no age limits. Dance connects, surprises, and gets people moving—literally and figuratively. With Good [old] Times, Holland Dance Festival has been showcasing for years that you are never too old to dance. This weekly series of classes for people aged 55 and older is all about fun, socializing, and the power of movement. Plus, it stimulates the production of so-called “happiness hormones.”
Good [old] Times is for anyone aged 55 and older who wants to dance, explore, and have fun. Whether you’re stepping into a dance studio for the first time or already have experience, we offer classes at various levels in a relaxed and inspiring atmosphere.
During Modern Plus (11:45 AM – 1:00 PM), the focus is on modern dance, but influences and elements from other dance disciplines are also incorporated—both in movement and in music selection. Led by professional dance instructors from the Holland Dance Festival, the class emphasizes developing overall (physical) fitness, body awareness, balance, muscle strength, and flexibility. In the Plus course, you will be challenged more physically (compared to the basic course), the lesson material is more complex, the pace of learning is at a higher level, and more is required of you technically. The exercises and combinations are also longer, which engages your movement memory more.
The Modern Plus course welcomes everyone aged 55 and older. If you’re a dancer with more experience (for example, gained in previous Good [old] Times dance classes) who enjoys a challenge, this course is the right fit for you.
