Looking for something exciting this summer?
Move, connect, and immerse yourself in the warm and colourful world of choreographer Poernima Gobardhan.
For this special summer edition of Good [old] Times, Holland Dance Festival presents a unique and inspiring dance course for people aged 55 and over. For many years, this series has proven that you are never too old to dance. Dance connects, moves and tells stories — without the need for words. It also contributes to relaxation and the release of so-called “happiness hormones”.
This summer, we introduce something new: an inspiring introduction to the movement language of Poernima Gobardhan.
Meet the choreographer
The workshops are led by Poernima Gobardhan, a leading choreographer, dancer, teacher and founder of the Poernima Dance Company. In her work, dance becomes a universal language — a way to share human experiences and create connection. With her warm and accessible approach, she guides participants step by step into a world where expression, rhythm and experience come together.
Have you always wanted to discover a new dance style? Now is your chance. In a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, you’ll be introduced to the basics of her movement language. There are two ways to sign up, and if you enjoy it, you can even participate twice.
Discover the refinement and expressive power. Together, we’ll work on a short choreography, with room for experience, musicality, and fun. In the workshops, Poernima blends her movement language, which draws from Bharata Natyam. With a warm, personal approach, she’ll guide you step by step through this rich dance language, where rhythm, expression, and storytelling come together.
Let yourself be transported to another world this summer.
