For the fifteenth consecutive year, Holland Dance Festival is organizing Talent On The Move, a touring program that serves two purposes: providing an opportunity to acquaint yourself with the future stars of contemporary dance and offering young talents from Codarts Rotterdam a platform to shine in creations by renowned choreographers. This year's Talent On The Move tour is set to commence during our festival and just like two years ago, it will be a 'special edition'.
Exclusively for both festival performances at Theater de Veste in Delft, the young adult hbo dancers from Codarts will share the stage with even younger talents from the Codarts Lyceaum (the Codarts pre-education) and the Group Grenade from Aix-en-Provence.
Broadening horizons
With the program Play, Move, Explore, Become – which includes workshops, lessons, and other exchange activities alongside performances – the young dancers from Rotterdam and Aix-en-Provence are challenged to work in an international and intercultural context, expanding their horizons. The project provides them with the opportunity to explore and show their passion and qualities beyond their familiar borders and surroundings. For the festival performances, a multifaceted program is specially crafted, allowing each age group to show their best side. Among other highlights, the young talents from Aix-en-Provence will perform segments from Room With A View by the French theater collective (LA)HORDE, which already provided a hit at our festival in 2022 with Marry Me in Bassiani. Spanish, Netherlands-based choreographer Fernando Troya will collaborate with students from both cities to create a new work: Rescuing Neverland.
Energy, connection and openness
Founded in 1992 by the exceptionally passionate Josette Baïz, the Groupe Grenade emerged after she had made two successful dance films with children from Marseille and Aix-en-Provence. From the beginning, the training has focused on blending diverse backgrounds and dance styles to create a unique language, while nurturing individual creativity. Today, Groupe Grenade comprises approximately sixty children and teenagers aged 7 to 19, symbolizing energy, connection, and openness in their distinct ‘Grenade style’.
